A piece of art….

A woman.
Since childhood a restless soul.
With hands that have to move.
With eyes that have to see.
No desires to become famous,
Just the need to capture beauty.

A silent moment in time,
A moment of magic, sometimes a moment of tragedy.
But always made with an intention to capture a moment, a feeling,
That will pass by and will never come back.
Thanks to those restless hands,
Captured in showers of colors, patterns and shapes.

That’s why I chose to be an artist,
Because my one talent in life,
Is to catch dreams, and to capture them.
To make them last for more than just that one second, that hour, that year, that lifetime.

The talent is the obsession to express these feelings. Unknowing where I have to go,
To follow the road of the biggest piece of art, life itself.
No security in a steady job, I lived the Gaugain-life on the most beautiful island of the Dutch Antilles: Bonaire. In solitude I painted for seven years in the Caribbean, and South America.
And now I find myself living  in the most colorful city in the world, Amsterdam. Where my topical subjects clash with the plain gray of Dutch society.

To learn the craftsmanship I listened to my mother,
A beautiful artist herself.
I listened to the old masters,
Vincent van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, Helnwein,
Monet, Gaugain, Salvador Dali, Frida, Picasso,
Johannes Vermeer,  and Rembrandt
Who told their own story, in their art.

My parents both went to Art-academy Minerva, Groningen, Holland.
And so did I in the year of 1989.
